Fertility Care

Fertility care at Willow & Womb

The journey to parenthood is rarely linear. It can be filled with hope, anticipation and excitement, but also uncertainty, disappointment and questions that don't always have simple answers.

Whether you're preparing for pregnancy, trying to conceive naturally, navigating fertility investigations, or moving through IVF, IUI or ovulation induction, Willow & Womb offers personalised acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to support you through every stage of your fertility journey.

Our care is designed to work alongside your GP, fertility specialist, obstetrician or wider healthcare team, providing an integrated approach that supports both your reproductive health and your overall wellbeing.

Care for Every Stage of Your Journey

Preconception Care

Preparing for pregnancy begins well before a positive pregnancy test.

Preconception care is an opportunity to better understand your cycle, nourish your body, address underlying health concerns, and create a strong foundation for conception. Whether you're planning to start trying in the coming months or preparing for another pregnancy, treatment is tailored to your individual health, lifestyle and goals.

This stage of care may support healthy menstrual cycles, ovulation, hormone balance, sleep, digestion, stress and overall wellbeing, helping you feel your best before taking the next step.

Natural Conception

If you're trying to conceive naturally, care is centred around supporting your body's natural rhythms while recognising that fertility is about far more than ovulation alone.

Your treatments are thoughtfully tailored to your menstrual cycle, symptoms, health history and individual circumstances, with the intention of supporting reproductive health while providing a calm and supportive space throughout what can often feel like an emotional journey.

Whether you've only recently started trying or have been on this path for some time, you'll be met with compassionate, individualised care that evolves alongside your journey.

Assisted Reproductive Care

For those undertaking IVF, IUI, ovulation induction or other assisted reproductive treatments, acupuncture can provide complementary support throughout your treatment cycle.

Appointments can be coordinated around your fertility timeline, including preparation cycles, ovarian stimulation, egg collection, embryo transfer and the two-week wait, creating care that feels integrated rather than like another appointment to fit into an already full calendar.

At Willow & Womb, we believe the best outcomes come from collaborative care. Treatment is designed to complement, never replace, the care you receive from your fertility clinic and medical team, with open communication where appropriate to ensure your care remains connected.

A Whole-Person Approach

Fertility isn't just a physical experience. It can touch every part of life, affecting your emotions, relationships, confidence and sense of self.

Alongside supporting reproductive health, your appointments provide space to slow down, exhale, ask questions, and feel genuinely supported. We take the time to understand your story, not just your diagnosis, recognising that no two fertility journeys are the same.

Care may also focus on supporting sleep, stress, digestion, energy levels and nervous system regulation, recognising that your overall wellbeing is an important part of your fertility journey.

Supporting Couples

While much of the focus often falls on one partner, fertility is a shared journey.

Fertility is rarely the responsibility of one person alone. Where appropriate, we strongly recommend that male partners also receive treatment to support reproductive health and optimise sperm quality. Caring for both partners allows us to take a more comprehensive, collaborative approach, supporting you together throughout your journey to conception.

When the Path Feels More Complex

Some fertility journeys involve more questions than answers.

You may have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss, multiple unsuccessful IVF cycles, or been told that implantation concerns or other complex findings may be contributing to your journey. Complex fertility journeys can sometimes raise questions that extend beyond routine investigations. As part of your care, Dr Emmy enjoys helping patients understand the wider landscape of reproductive medicine, including when conversations around immune factors, DQ Alpha compatibility, natural killer (NK) cells or other specialised investigations may be appropriate. Where these discussions are relevant, she can connect you with trusted practitioners and fertility specialists for further assessment and collaborative care.

While acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are not a replacement for specialist medical investigation or treatment, care at Willow & Womb is designed to complement your existing medical team. Dr Emmy enjoys taking the time to understand the bigger picture, reviewing your history, exploring how each piece fits together, and providing thoughtful, individualised care alongside your fertility specialist's recommendations.

For many people, having a practitioner who understands the complexity of fertility care and can walk alongside them through an often overwhelming process provides reassurance, continuity and a place to feel genuinely supported.

What You Can Expect

Your first appointment is an opportunity to share your story. We'll take the time to understand your menstrual cycle, health history, fertility timeline, previous investigations or treatments, and your goals moving forward.

From there, your care is personalised to your individual journey and adapted as your needs change. Fertility care is most meaningful when viewed as a process rather than a single appointment, allowing us to support you through each phase with thoughtful, responsive care tailored to your goals.

Above all, Willow & Womb is a place where you can feel heard, cared for and supported, wherever your path to parenthood may lead.

Collaborative Care

At Willow & Womb, we believe the best care happens when your healthcare team works together.

Whether you're trying to conceive naturally, undergoing fertility treatment, or navigating pregnancy, Chinese Medicine can work alongside the care you're already receiving. We regularly support patients who are under the care of fertility specialists, GPs, obstetricians, midwives, gynaecologists, endocrinologists and allied health professionals, providing complementary treatment that aligns with their existing care plan.

Our approach is collaborative, respectful and patient-centred. When appropriate, we're happy to communicate with your healthcare team to help ensure your care is coordinated and supports your individual goals.

You don't need to choose between conventional medicine and Chinese Medicine. At Willow & Womb, we embrace an integrative approach, bringing both together to provide comprehensive, personalised care throughout your journey.
